3D Computer Design

While J&R Wood Products may be a small business, we use a state of the art computer program to bring your ideas to reality. Starting with a hand sketch of what the finished product will look like, we then take measurements of the area and start laying out the cabinetry in our computer program. Our powerful program generates a 3D rendering of the finished product. For example, if we are designing cabinets for a new kitchen, the customer is able to choose from thousands of wood grains and finishes, counter top materials, flooring, and appliances to complete the picture. Imagine how much easier it is to make decisions when you can see what the finished result will be. If you do not like some aspect of the design, the software allows us to make changes and you can see the results in minutes.

J&R Wood Products will walk you through the entire process of creating your custom cabinetry so you know exactly what to expect. Here’s a step-by-step description of the process we follow for custom kitchen cabinetry.

Step 1: Receive a call from a prospective client and set a time to meet at their home to discuss their project.
Step 2: Meet client, take measurements of the area, listen to their idea(s) and sketch out the room or area (for lay out later).
Step 3: Layout the kitchen on our computer program.
Step 4: Email or fax a rough layout for the client to review and make changes, if necessary.
Step 5: Make changes for the customer, give them an estimate for the project and set up an appointment for customer to come to our shop to finalize plans.
Step 6: Finalize the project with the customer by choosing the wood type, stain color, hinges, and hardware.
Step 7: J&R orders all materials and starts the construction process.
Step 8: We finish the cabinets according to the customer specifications.
Step 9: A delivery date is set and we deliver and install the cabinets in the home.
Step 10: We take one last trip to the home to wrap up the project by installing the hardware and finishing the trim work. When complete, we make a final walk through with our customer to make sure they are happy with the finished result.
